Reform of the public sector
Article Abstract:
There have been many changes over recent years in the size of the UK's public sector and in the way it operates. Recent research has sought to analyse the general features of these changes. The key element has been the privatisation programme, which has led to a considerable reduction in the role of the public sector as a provider of goods and services. In some cases, particularly that of the NHS, reforms have had a negative impact because they have increased the number of managers and administrators.

A Way With Waste
Article Abstract:
The key elements of 'A Way With Waste,' the UK government's waste disposal strategy, are discussed. Particular emphasis will be placed on recycling of waste products and on reuse.
