Region shows its support for Pyongyang agreement
Article Abstract:
Several Asian countries have banded together in an informal coalition to support the US-North Korea nuclear agreement. The US, South Korea and Japan have been joined by the six members of the Assn. of Southeast Asian Nations in their efforts to set up the Korea Peninsula Energy Development Organization. However, some observers doubt whether this show of Asian solidarity will be enough to convince North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons program.

U.S. aims to tighten Burma policy by putting curbs on future investments
Article Abstract:
The US is coming with policy on Burma that would assure that the political opposition led by Aung San Suu Kyi would survive against a military-backed dictatorship while allowing US firms to continue operating in the country. However, it would prevent further US investment in the country in case of political repression. This policy represents a milder alternative to an earlier one that would altogether ban business with Burma.

U.S. companies court Asean business on their own
