Reorganization of forest districts via efficiency measurement
Article Abstract:
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach is used to evaluate the three reorganization proposals for reducing Taiwan's forest districts from thirteen to eight as presented by the Taiwan Forestry Bureau. The main aim of the reorganization is to promote a more equitable distribution of districts for the local people and an increased efficiency. The organization will result in a reduction of managers and number of employees. With the DEA approach, a fourth proposal is advanced that will distribute the districts more efficiently provided there are no administrative obstacles.

The impacts of regulated notions of quality on farm efficiency: a DEA application
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the impact of the European Union's recent policies that aim at regulating the agricultural production quality based on physical properties and geographical zone of production or method of production processes is presented. The performance improvement is measured using data envelopment analysis.
