Resource tax is 'doomed to fail'
Article Abstract:
Gudmundur Kristjansson, a fishing vessel owner and seafood processor, discusses the efficacy of the resource tax imposed in Iceland. The said tax policy proposes to tax every industry, irrespective of the profits. The funds generated from such taxes will be utilized in projects where the politicians feel that investments are required. According to Kristjansson, the resource tax policy is bound to fail because politicians cannot know better than the industrialists running the business, regarding the funds requirement.
