Review: Open Up All Sorts of New Applesoft Avenues with the Routine Machine
Article Abstract:
Southwestern Data Systems has developed an Applesoft package called the Routine Machine that allows Apple users to place machine language subroutines within their Applesoft programs. The Routine Machine is a 7.5K utility program that once placed in memory can call up to 255 machine language subroutines to be appended to any Applesoft program. Using the Routine Machines modules will extend Applesoft capabilities by allowing all the regular Basic and various 6502 assembly language routines to become available to Applesoft. Sample uses of the product are described.

Reading Text File Names Into Applesoft Programs
Article Abstract:
A utility program is available to read text file names into Applesoft programs. Previously this could only be done by issuing the CATALOG command from the BASIC program. The disadvantages to this method include all files on the disk being listed, and then the user must retype the name of the file to be loaded. Program listings are included.
