Ryanair pulls bid for Aer Lingus and EU probe

Ryanair Holdings PLC of Ireland announced it has withdrawn its offer to acquire Aer Lingus Group PLC also of Ireland. The bid offer was 1.4 billion Euros ($1.85 billion) and would have combined the two major airlines of Ireland. The European Union expressed concern that the deal would be in violation of antitrust law.
