SEB to sell Trygg-Hansa to Codan, acquire bank

Swedish-based SEB will sell off its Trygg-Hansa nonlife insurance division to Codan AS for 4.3 billion Swedish kronor. SEB will also expand its operations in Denmark with its acquisition of Codan for 885 million kronor. This acquisition is part of the deal to sell Trygg-Hansa. SEB is planning to utilize Codan as a Internet banking platform in Denmark. SEB will also maintain its asset management portfolio for Trygg-Hansa.
