US Army selects AN/VIS-3 for up to 2,100 BCT vehicles
Article Abstract:
A team cormpised of Northrop Grumman Corp's Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector and BAE Systems have been awarded a contract worth $4.5 million by the US Army Communications Electronics Command to outfit the US Army's new Brigade Combat Team (BCT) with a digital vehicle intercom system. The initial contract award for more than 350 VIS systems will be used to support the first bridage of the BCT. Further awards are anticipated to support the planned fielding of additional brigades.

Harris launches multiband vehicle packs
Article Abstract:
Harris RF Communications Div is expected to be entering production of its fully integrated vehicular adapter and power amplifier radio system by the end of 2000, while shipping of orders will begin by early 2001. The radio set, tentatively named AN/VRC-94F, is claimed by the company to have the capability to provide a mobile, higher-power version for Harris Falcon II family of secure tactical radios, including the AN/PRC-117F(C) multiband multimission manpack.
