Saving the Olympic spirit
Article Abstract:
There is growing evidence of corruption among members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), who are believed to have accepted valuable gifts. This could have very negative repercussions for the modern Olympic movement. Some observers believe that such a development could be avoided by introducing wide-reaching changes within the IOC. Such changes would include moving away from competition between cities to host the Olympics. Other observers believe that it would be preferable to merely change the IOC's composition.
