Schumann, a modeling framework for supply chain management under uncertainty
Article Abstract:
A modeling structure is presented for the optimization of a manufacturing, assembly and distribution (MAD) supply chain planning under uncertainty in product demand and component supplying cost and delivery time. A two-stage scenario analysis based on a partial recourse strategy, where MAD supply chain policy can be implemented for a given set of initial time periods, was employed. A dual approach splitting variable method was employed to consider the implementable time periods related variables, through a redundant circular linking representation.

On(n log n) procedures for tightening cover inequalities
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine two O(n log n) methods for tightening cover induced inequalities where n is the number of variables with nonzero coefficients in the knapsack constraint. The first approach employs information from the cover inequality to tight while the second employs information from the structure of the original problem. Results provide evidence that the new inequalities are 0-1 equivalent and LP tighter than the original cover inequalities.

On tightening cover induced inequalities
Article Abstract:
A computation procedure for increasing coeficients in cover-induced inequalities is developed using 0-1 knapsack constraints. Cliques whose variables are included in the cover may also be used if available. The increased coefficients of the cover inequality result in tightening. A potential ground suggested for this computational procedure is the new branch-and-cut approach for solving integer program problems.
