Secret relief
Article Abstract:
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled against the British government's position on homosexuality in the armed forces. Britain has a particularly harsh position on this issue, and the government may be relieved at being able to tell the generals that there is no option but to accept the European ruling. The court rules that investigations into the private affairs of five people dismissed for being gay were too intrusive. This means that the policy of the armed forces pn homosexuality cannot be enforced.
