Sequencing and due-date determination in the stochastic single machine problem with earliness and tardiness costs
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the problem of simultaneous due-date determination and sequencing of a set of jobs on a single machine. The machine, which supported process times as random variables, integrated distinct job earliness and tardiness. Results indicated that differences in processing times correlated with increases and cost and influenced sequencing and due-date determination decisions.
