Shouting very loudly: economics, planning and politics
Article Abstract:
The reason why the efforts made by the economists to make a contribution to land use planning has been ignored is explored and the methods of public choice theory are used to analyze planning policies. It is concluded that while public choice theory can explain why planning policies are what they are, this does not mean that these policies maximise economic welfare.
