Article Abstract:
The restoration of the Sonneveld House, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has been completed and the house is open to the public in 2001. The house which was designed by architects J.A. Brinkman and L.C. van der Vlugt over seventy years ago is described.

Time to take stock of MoD estate disposal plans
Article Abstract:
Several of the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) properties, such as the Royal William Yard in Plymouth and the 30ha Royal Arsenal at Woolwich, are likely to be sold off in a similar manner to the Royal Naval College at Greenwich. English Heritage experts say that the MoD is more concerned with conservation in recent years but if a preservation project is put forward for consideration it must be well thought out and realistic.

Showcase for the community: a former car factory headquarters building serves a range of local needs after Avanti Architects' involvement
Article Abstract:
Avanti Architects adapted the former headquarters of a UK car factory in the London Borough of Kensington, to a range of new uses, for the Notting Hill Housing Trust. Part of the building was to be given over to community use and this was to made as flexible as possible. The Grade II listed headquarters building features warm red brick, stone dressings, sash windows and a tiled roof. Avanti added a single storey pavilion which serves as a waiting room for the doctors surgery which occupies one floor of the old office block.
