Simultaneous engineering approach to an integrated design and process planning
Article Abstract:
The reference model and methodology was developed to support the integration of design and process planning. The reference model is composed of four partial models such as the information model, method model, activity model and the technical system model. The partial models also represented the framework of a three-stage procedure for developing potentials of integration and parallelism in design and process planning. Furthermore, the design and process planning procedures run concurrently due to the optimized flow of information between activities.

Evaluating alternative production cycles using the extended fuzzy AHP method
Article Abstract:
The extended fuzzy analytical hierarchical process (AHP) methodology can be utilized for the assessment of alternative production cycles during product design and product planning. The extended fuzzy AHP method is a 10-stage process involving the selection of an optimum production sequence within a set of production sequences. The selection of the optimum production sequence is also influenced by several criteria such as costs, environmental compatibility and quality.

Potentials and procedure for the integrated planning and production technologies in the early phases of product development
Article Abstract:
The applications potentials and constraints of production technologies and production resources should be considered during the early phases of product and process planning. A method for the systematic planning of production technologies and resources was developed based on uncertain information during the early phases of product planning. The method permits the evaluation of the technological aspects of product design based on a technology information model.
