Software, soft drinks
Article Abstract:
Coca-Cola and Microsoft have been the targets of antitrust actions, with Coca-Cola investigated in Europe, and a court battle between Microsoft and the US Department of Justice nearing a verdict. An investigation into Coca-Cola has been completed in Italy, though it has yet to be published. Both companies claim innocence and arguing that they face competition, though there is evidence that they can exercise some market power. Neither company has been able to argue convincingly that consumers should not be able to choose between their and rivals' products, so neither deserves to win.
