BAA rejects sweetened Ferrovial bid

Grupo Ferrovial S.A. of Spain increased its acquisition bid for BAA PLC of the United Kingdom to 9.73 billion Pounds ($18.09 billion) from 8.73 billion Pounds. The bid has become hostile and the Spanish operator is appealing to shareholders.
