Spanish owner rejecting huge Svalbard fines
Article Abstract:
Norwegian Coastguard has arrested and fined three Transpesca owned Spanish trawlers in the Svalbard zone. Transpesca, has denied the charges and with the support of Spain's National Association for Owners of Cod Fishing Vessels (AGARBA), has filed a case against Norwegian authorities for having violated the 1920 Treaty of Paris.

Spanish seek Hague court challenge on Svalbard

In the wake of Spanish trawlers' arrest by Norwegian Coastguard in the Svalbard zone, fishing industry leaders and government officials of Spain have approached the Hague International Court against Norway for its unlawful act and violation of the Treaty of Paris of 1920.
