Spending a penny
Article Abstract:
There is a debate on tax in the Scottish elections, with the Scottish National Party deciding against a policy of cutting tax by one penny, as is to occur in the rest of Britain, in order to improve Scottish public services. There are indications that this move is a mistake, and the Labor Party may benefit, but it is not clear that Labor will win overall in the Scottish elections. The Conservative Party has no members of parliament in Scotland, and there is little media coverage for its candidates by the Scottish press.
