Stocks retreat 1.2% in Germany

The German stock market was down 1.2 percent at yesterday's close on the German Xetra DAX 30 Index. For the most part German investors held their ground and may embrace Angela Merkel's economic recovery plan despite the political turmoil of an undecided election. The effects of the undecided election did not reverberate through other European stock markets.

Forecast gets brighter for stocks in Germany

The German securities market is expected to improve as stocks seem undervalued. Economic growth in Germany is slowed with labor costs dropping and unemployment rounds at 12.6 percent.
