Strategic uses of e-commerce by SMEs in the East of England
Article Abstract:
Surveys conducted in several countries show that small- to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in different industry sectors may adopt different strategies for e-commerce and have different needs for training and support. The strategic uses of e-commerce have penetrated homes and business at a very rapid rate with the phenomenal technological successes of E-mail and the Internet.

Industry-versus firm-specific effects on performance: contrasting SMEs and large-sized firms
Article Abstract:
The impact of industry and firm-specific factors on the profitability of business firms is investigated by using survey and census data on a sample of Greek manufacturing firms. The results provide strong evidence that firm factors exert a much stronger impart than industry, in both SMEs and large enterprises.
