IOC IN TALKS WITH RPL, ESSAR TO MARKET REFINERY PRODUCTS

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is conducting negotiations with Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL) and Essar Oil. IOC proposes to market RPL and Essar Refineries' downstream products produced at their Jamnagar refineries. Both the refineries are expected to start operations during 1999. IOC proposes to market RPL's products in the local market as there is a good demand. It has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Essar Oil for distributing the products produced at the Jamnagar refinery. (ag)

TAMILNADU PETRO TO UP LAB CAPACITY USING UOP's TECH
Article Abstract:
Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd (TPL) plans to increase the capacity of its linear alkyl benzene (LAB) production to 1.2 lakh tonnes from 75,000 tonnes with technology from Universal Oil Products, its US partner. The latest temperature controlled reactor technology will be introduced in TPL. The LAB capacity will be increased to one lakh tonnes in the first phase by September 1999 and then to 1.2 lakh tonnes in the second phase at an estimated cost of Rs70 crore. (khr)
