Colour Chem Ltd (CCL) recorded 58.7 percent growth in net profit during 1997-98. This is attributed to sale of its textile dyes business for Rs30 crore. Its sales turnover grew marginally by 11 percent while operational income increased by 22 percent. Exports of chemicals and dyes increased by 9 percent to Rs108 crore in 1997-98. The scrip currently trades at Rs1,860. COLOUR-CHEM TO PAY 52% FINAL DIVIDEND
Article Abstract:
Colour-Chem is to offer a final dividend of 52 percent for 1997- 98, in addition to the 108 percent special interim dividend already paid, taking the total dividend payout to 160 percent. The special interim dividend was paid out of the proceeds of assignment and transfer of the textile dyes business for a total compensation of Rs29.50 crore. In 1996-97, the company had offered a total dividend of 60 percent. The net profit of Colour-Chem stood at Rs38.27 crore on a turnover of Rs372 crore in 1997-98. The operating profit amounted to Rs19.10 crore and exports went up by 44 percent to Rs108 crore during the year. (gsh)
