KARUR VYSYA BANK NET DOWN 13 PER CENT

Karur Vysya Bank Ltd (KVBL) has posted a 13 percent fall in its net profit during the first half of 1998-99. During the period, it also posted a 21 percent rise in the total income. KVBL also posted a 29 percent rise in the deposits and a 25 percent rise in advances. The income from interest also grew by 33 percent. KVBL has exceeded crossed all goals set for offering advances to the priority sector and also export credit. (ag)
