Tatra (Koprivnice, Czech Republic), lorry manufacturer, will be cleared of debts. The state will forgive the firm old credits worth 4 bil Kc. Konsolidacni banka (KoB) (Czech Republic) and the National Property Fund (NPF) will change the credits to shares. Tatra's stock will increase to 5.1 bil Kc. Tatra is not Telecom
Article Abstract:
Tatra (Koprivnice, Czech Republic), motor company, should be sold to a strategical partner by the end of 2000. The partner should be chosen by the revitalisation agency Revitalizacni agentura (RA) (Czech Republic). Tatra has to cover debts of 4.5 bil Kc. The debts should be capitalised by the state bank Konsolidacni banka (KOB) (Czech Republic). KOB together with Ceska financni (Czech Republic) holds a 64% stake in Tatra. In 1999 Tatra produced 1,200 lorries. The company excluding subsidiaries saw a loss of 400 mil Kc under a turnover of 4 bil Kc in 1999. The firm has nearly 5,000 employees.

Tatra gets up from the bottom
Article Abstract:
Tatra (Koprivnice, Czech Republic), automotive company, is improving its economy in 2000, due to a rescue programme of the Czech government. The firm sold 960 lorries for 1-8/2000 compared to 559 for 1-8/1999. It goes on looking for a strategical partner, who could be known in 2000. According to an audit, the parent firm Tatra excluding 11 subsidiaries saw a loss of CEK 2.635 bil in 1999 compared to a loss of CEK 395.355 mil in 1998. All the group Tatra saw a consolidated loss of CEK 1.451 bil in 1999 compared to a loss of CEK 578 mil in 1998.
