Technology and the M&A cycle: an attractive hunting ground for both corporate and venture capital
Article Abstract:
There are a number of factors influencing mergers and acquisitions in the mid-market technology sector. These include the rapid pace of technological change, with acquirors being strongly attracted to interesting early-stage businesses, and traditional industry consolidation. The significance of mid-market technology companies has become disproporationate to their size. It will be important to use the correct merger and acquisition and private equity channels to ensure that this situation is used to full advantage.
