Telecom Italia net rises 4.2% on foreign growth

First-quarter net profit for Telecom Italia S.p.A. rose 4.2% to 775 mil euros, with revenue increasing 0.8% to 7.54 bil euros. A 23 .6 % stake in the company was recently bought by Spain's Telefonica S.A. and a group of Italian financial companies for 4.1 bil euros.
