Telefonica adds to stake in China Netcom Group

Spanish telecommunications firm Telefonica S.A. will increase its stake in China Netcom Group Corp. from 5% to 7.22% in a deal valued at $451.7 mil. Telefonica has announced intentions for acquiring a 10% in China Netcom, the nation's second-biggest fixed-line firm by number of subscribers after China Telecom Corp.
