The conditioner subsector of Spain's hair-washing products sector saw the emergence in 1996 of softening creams as its biggest product type, accounting for a subsectoral value share of 75.2% during the year. Softening creams netted total sales of Ptas5,288.2 million during 1996. A good performance was also noted for the subsector for hair-conditioning products during 1992 to 1996, with the subsector's 21.1% rate of growth in terms of value even surpassing the shampoo subsector during the said period.
