The internationalization process of franchise systems: a conceptual model
Article Abstract:
A conceptual model for the analysis of factors affecting the internationalization provcess of franchise systems is presented. The theoretical framework assumes that the internationalization move is essentially based on a cost/benefit assessment made by top management. Thus, perceived risks and perceived benefits, which are shaped by a set of organizational and environmental factors, play crucial roles in the decision to internationalize.
