The U.S. puts Japan on probation
Article Abstract:
The new security agreement between United States and Japan signed by defense and foreign ministers from respective countries on October, 29, 2005 is discussed. It relates to relocation of U.S. marine air station at Futenma in Okinawa. After world war, United States needed the base. But now, the need is not as great as earlier. Consequently, Japan has to decide what it is willing to compromise to keep the services of United States military. Japan has to take this decision before mid-November, when President George W. Bush will be visiting the country.
