The construction of a co-generation power station with an output of 350 MW

ECK Generating (Kladno, Czech Republic), heat and electric power producer, will commission a new power source in 1999. The contract on the basic reconstruction of the Power Centre Kladno has been arranged by the power producer ABB Energeticke systemy (Brno, Czech Republic) and Energeticke centrum Kladno Generating (ECKG) (Prague, Czech Republic). ECKG is a joint venture of Stredoceska energeticka (Prague, Czech Republic), NRG Energy (Minneapolis, Minnesota, US) and El Paso Energy International Company (Houston, Texas, US). The total investments in the installation should be 412 mil USD, about 15 bil Kc. About 244 mil USD of the sum should be spent on technology. The supplier of the power centre with an output of 350 MW is ABB ENS (Brno, Czech Republic). The equipment's basic fuel is natural gas and its spare fuel is extra-light fuel oil. The power source is the second largest power project in the Czech Republic after the Temelin Nuclear Power Station. Ceskoslovenska obchodni banka (Prague, Czech Republic) and Ceska sporitelna (Prague, Czech Republic) provided the project with 115 mil USD, International Finance Corporation with 85 mil USD, the trade company Nissan Iwai Corporation (Japan) with 65 mil USD and ABB Structured Finance (Zurich, Switzerland) with 37.5 mil USD. Skoda JS is awarded important contract in Russia

Skoda JS (SJS) (Plzen, Czech Republic), engineering firm, will be the main supplier and co-ordinator of a project worth a total of 3.7 bil Kc. The firm will build a new gas processing plant in the republic Komi, Russia, in a consortium with Koch Glitsch (KG) (US) and Panador (Switzerland) within the project. KG will ensure process technology and Panador construction and installation jobs. Other Czech firms should ensure an important part of the project. The Czech party should ensure a total of about 60% of the project. SJS is a subsidiary of the concern Skoda Plzen (Plzen, Czech Republic).

Moravan Otrokovice is awarded a contract in Algeria

Moravan (Otrokovice, Czech Republic), aeroplane manufacturer, is negotiating a contract worth a total of more than 10 mil USD in Algeria. The contract should regard the re-start of the production of aeroplanes of the type Z 142 in Algeria, where an assembly plant was built in the 1980's. The first stage of the contract worth 4 mil USD, which was arranged at an Air Show in Paris in 1999, will be realised by the subsidiary Moravan-Aeroplanes (Otrokovice, Czech Republic).
