Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom dental care market grew to more than 1.5 billion pounds sterling in 1994, with the consumer covered by dental plans for about 450 million pounds sterling of this market. Around 620,000 patients were participating in private dental payment plans at end December 1994, with this market worth 80 million pounds sterling. Over 50% of consumers have problems finding NHS dentists. The private dental plan market has grown because of dentists' growing dissatisfaction and increasing dental care costs. The market is examined.
