In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the US, many people have suggested that the US in some way brought it all upon itself. However, the US tends towards idealism and its intervention in many areas, for example Kosovo and Bosnia, were not to support its own vital interests.

The world has generally pegged the Serbs as the aggressors in Bosnia, but the Croats have also started warring with Muslims in an attempt to gain territory. Though the Croats have signed the Vance-Owen treaty, they may provoke sanctions on themselves as well.

Hatred as usual: Cyprus
Article Abstract:
The United Nations recently drew up a peace plan that included a map dividing Cyprus between the two factions. The plan and negotiations were accepted by Greek-Cypriot leader George Vasiliou, but they were rejected by Turkish-Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash.
