The show is on TV
Article Abstract:
Interest groups can affect government policy in the US, if they have the backing of the media. This is especially true if they include famous personalities and are backed by wealthy firms and have advice from major consultants, as is the case with Rob Reiner's campaign on child care. Movements rallying public opinion can be supported by politicians from different parties, and interest groups may carry more weight than elected representatives.
