Top Elektrim officials quit over scandal

The president and vice-president of Elektrim S.A., Poland largest industrial company, have resigned. It was revealed that they had promised in 1996 to sell a significant portion of the company's stake in Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa to another shareholder for a nominal price. Investors consider the resignations good for both the company and the Warsaw market.
