Toy advertisers win major cross border victory
Article Abstract:
Toy companies may be able to advertise in Norway using satellite television following a legal victory. Advertisements geared to children aged under 12 are not permitted on TV in Norway. Mattel and Lego appealed to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) when there was an attempt to extend the ban to satellite TV. EFTA argues that satellite TV adverts could not be prohibited since Norway has to conform with European Union legislation that permits such advertising.

Berlusconi still faces regulatory challenges despite selloff
Article Abstract:
Retailing and media group Fininvest has sold a 20% share in Mediaset, television holdings and advertising sales company for $1.14 billion. The sale has been made to ease the former's debt pressures. Two more sell-offs are planned for October 1995 and 1996, leaving Fininvest with a holding of only 35-40%. The sell-off has not affected owner Silvio Berlusconi's media ownership problems.
