Dominion Resources in $6.3 billion deal

Dominion Resources Inc. has reached an agreement to purchase Consolidated Natural Gas Co. in an exchange of shares worth $6.3 billion. The deal forms one of the largest electric and gas utilities in the US. Consolidated is a gas and oil pipeline firm. The deal is still awaiting the approval of regulators and stockholders. Under the deal, Consolidated stockholders will receive 1.52 Dominion shares each.
