Transatlantic acquisitions and European consolidations

Heico Corp. of Hollywood, FL, has entered a deal to buy Teleflex Lionel Dupont (TLD), a French company, for $63 million. The TLD group is made up of Albret Industrie, ERMA and Tracma in France; Devtec and Lantis in the US; and Devtec subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei. The total yearly turnover of these firms is $140 million, with around 60% of the revenue coming from TLD-GSE operations. Heico's most recent major acquisition is that of the air start, ground power unit and air-conditioning manufacturer Trilectron Industries of Palmetto, FL, in 1996.

Securicor targets world market
Article Abstract:
UK's Securicor Group PLC has bought the aviation and commercial security assets of AHL Services of the US for 127 million pounds sterling. The acquired assets include Argenbright, which employs 16,000 people in the US, and ADI in Europe, which has a staff of 4,000 workers. Securicor said the acquisition will make the world's biggest provider of airport security services, with contracts at 17 of the top 20 airport hubs in the US, and with 7 of the top 10 airports in Europe.
