UK: REPORT SHOWS GROWTH IN RETAIL ASSET MANAGEMENT

Asset management is set to grow in the UK, according to a study by Fox-Pitt Kelton, the US investment bank, due to an increase in personal wealth, changing demographics, and awareness of the benefits of private pensions and financial planning. The report says the retail investor market in the UK is worth some GBu 255.5bn in client assets, and predicts growth in mutual funds which account for 38% of gross domestic product in the UK.

UK: Morley launches two focused funds

Morley Fund Management is launching its Morley European Focus and Morley UK Focus funds, each having between 30 and 40 stocks in their portfolios. David Lis will manage the UK Focus Fund, while Iain McNeill will manage the European Focus Fund. Minimum investment in each fund is GBu 5,000, with an initial charge of 5% and a 1.5%/y management fee.
