Regulators accuse breweries in Belgium of joining in cartel

Some of the biggest breweries in Belgium, including Interbrew S.A., were notified that they are being accused of participating in a price-fixing and market-sharing cartel. Although Interbrew admitted to having been part of a cartel, the brewery stated that it was in the past.

U.K. highcourt hands legal victory to Belgian brewer (Interbrew S.A.)

United Kingdom's high court has ruled for Belgian Interbrew S.A., in its 2.3 billion sterling acquisition of Bass Brewers Ltd., from Bass PLC. The high court has directed the Competition Commission to allow Interbrew to renegotiate the acquisition.
