U.K. says LSE bids must be reviewed

The United Kingdom Office of Fair Trading has launched an investigation of the Deutsche Borse AG and Euronext N.V. bids for the London Stock Exchange to review for adverse competitive practice. Shares of the London Stock Exchange fell 4.6 percent or 22 pence to 452 pence per share at the announcement. The investigation has slowed the consolidation of Europe's stock exchanges.

Euronext reveals talks with potential partners
Article Abstract:
A shotgun merger between Euronext N.V. of the Netherlands and Deutsche Borse AG of Germany is being promoted by Euronext N.V. shareholders. The Dutch stock exchange is willing to continue discussions with Deutsche Borse AG but is looking at all options. Euronext N.V. operates from France.
