Integrated assessment models for acid rain

Article Abstract:

Some form of similarities were found among integrated assessment models related to acid rain. Most of acid rain models assessed contain at least one non-linear module and tackle issues concerning origins of sulfur dioxide pollution (SO2), atmospheric transport and deposition, control costs and environmental effects. Majority of the models considered are highly policy-oriented and were utilized in international negotiations.

A note on a global approach for general 0-1 fractional programming

Article Abstract:

A straightforward general 1-0 fractional programming problem solution is derived using a theorem that shows how nonlinear terms in the problem may be directly replaced by a set of linear inequalities. The theorem helps transform the polynomial mixed 0-1 terms easier than the global optimum generating approach proposed by Li and can thus be easier solved as a mixed integer program.
