VIA Rail rolls out its overnight service

Via Rail Canada will launch its overnight train from Montreal and Toronto with a $400,000 promotion campaign for the service. Via's advertising will be handled by Lafleur Communications, loyalty mailing by Carlson Marketing and public relations by Communications MECA. Via is promoting its overnight Enterprise service to travelers as a cost-effective way to avoid staying in hotel rooms and the train's late evening departure will allow travelers to socialize longer.

BBDO head tough on Toronto office

BBDO Canada is under pressure to deliver 15% annual growth. BBDO Worldwide chmn and CEO Alen Rosenshine believes that the company is in the top tier of BBDO Worldwide creatively. However, it has to do better on the growth side. The objective, however, is made even more difficult by the loss of Chapters nad Scotia-bank accounts. Rosenshine says 15% annual net profit growth is a worldwide objective and corporately that objective should be made yearly.
