Clear spirits and liqueurs in Germany
Article Abstract:
Germany's clear spirits and liqueurs industry had a total turnover of 6.7 billion German marks in 1997, down from almost 8 billion German marks in 1993. Total output of clear spirits and liqueurs has fallen for several years, with a 54% fall in vodka production, in value terms, between 1995 and 1997. More than 65% of total sales of all major types of spirits is through discounters and superstores. There is unlikely to be any significant growth in the market.
