The Sep, 2001, terrorist attacks on the US have focused attention on security technology, but there is no easy answer. Biometric technology has many uses, but there are concerns over invasion of privacy. Technology also needs skilled, motivated staff to operate it.

The fear of mega-terrorism has been awakened by the Sep 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the US. World leaders must now plan for the threat of chemical, nuclear or biological warfare and take steps to pre-empt such attacks.
