Water resources planning in the Middle East: application of the PROMETHEE V multicriteria method

Article Abstract:

Scarce water resources in Middle Eastern countries have made water planning a major concern of government. Jordan, in particular, is experiencing increasing limitations on water supply. The modified Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations is applied to Jordan's water problem. The multicriteria method indicates that the country's most optimal water policy options include efficient pricing and regulation and focus on local water supply and conservation.
