Many airport authorities are aware of the opportunities provided by e- commerce media. The World Wide Web and other media tools, however, are still very new to airports, and few have ventured online. Airports should realize that they have a captive audience that number in the millions. Passengers can buy items as an off-airport purchase through an airport's Website. An e-commerice consultant suggests that airports consider carefully e-commerce as a business strategy and not just a technology application.

The sky's the limit as Phoenix seeks approval
Article Abstract:
The new master plan of Phoenix Sky Harbor's will reach committee stage next year under its approval process. The Arizona-based airport, with a volume of 31 million passengers, will have to maximize its three-terminal facility because of property and environmental concerns. Completion of projects under its previous master plan is still to be finalized, including a third commuter runway and extension of the 11,000 ft north runway by an additional 900 ft.
