Who speaks for them?
Article Abstract:
The leaders of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, have been divided and the best known is Ibrahim Rugova, who has argued that violence would lead to catastrophe. He was president of the Republic of Kosovo, and was opposed by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). The KLA head is Hashim Thaci, who will need to set up a political party if the KLA is disarmed. Other key figures among leaders of Kosovo include Adem Demaci, who spent 28 years in jail, and Veton Surroi, though he may have been killed.

Who controls Kosovo?
Article Abstract:
Kosovo, Yugoslavia, is controlled by a protectorate, with five western armies each controlling one part of Kosovo. Guerrillas from the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) have 90 days to disarm, and there is a promise of a citizens' militia similar to the National Guard in the US. Civilian administrators are to be appointed in each zone. Kosovo Albanians previously ran their own medical, tax and school system, and much of Kosovo has been under the control of the KLA.
