Why oil's surge hasn't damped global growth
Article Abstract:
Oil prices have nearly doubled to $70 per barrel in the past 24 months, yet there has been little effect on the economy as other broad economic considerations have lessened the damage quotient. The hot global real estate market, inexpensive consumer goods imports from Asia and in the United States low long term and short term interest rates have helped to keep the economy in motion with consumer spending.
